Monster Hunter Outlanders adds Nergigante event as Gamescom hands-on begins

Monster Hunter Outlanders moves into another important phase today, August 28, as TiMi Studio Group expands its third closed beta and begins a three-day Gamescom community event in Cologne. The mobile-first Monster Hunter project is adding the Nergigante Approaches event, the Crimson Authority recruitment event featuring Great Sword Adventurer Freya, and a Hunting Dash event. The update follows this week's reveal of Ruger Aidal, the first original Elder Dragon created specifically for Outlanders.

App Store and Google Play pre-registration is now open as well. From August 28 through August 30, visitors to the Monster Hunter Outlanders Adventurers' Feast in Cologne can play the game, meet members of the development team and collect event merchandise. Outlanders remains one of the most technically ambitious mobile games currently in development, attempting to preserve Monster Hunter's deliberate weapon combat, cooperative hunts and large creatures while creating an experience practical for touchscreen play.

The latest beta content should provide useful evidence of how successfully TiMi is balancing that ambition.
