Albion Online Android is getting Tencent-backed ACE anti-cheat protection

Sandbox Interactive is strengthening Albion Online's Android client through a partnership with Tencent Cloud and Anti-Cheat Expert. The companies confirmed at Gamescom that ACE Anti-Cheat Standard will be integrated into the mobile version during the third quarter of 2026. Security is particularly important for Albion because its economy is heavily driven by players. Cheating, automation and unauthorized tools can distort markets and damage progression far beyond an individual competitive match.

Android also creates unusual challenges because the operating system runs across thousands of hardware combinations and can be modified more extensively than closed console platforms. ACE promotes a full-lifecycle approach that combines cheat detection, client protection, economic-risk management and threat intelligence. The technology still has to prove that it can operate without creating excessive battery drain, performance penalties or false positives for legitimate players.

Albion's cross-platform structure makes the outcome especially relevant to the wider industry. As more PC-scale online games reach phones, publishers can no longer treat mobile security as a secondary issue separate from the rest of their competitive ecosystem.
