ANANTA now has a firm January 15, 2027 launch target, bringing NetEase and Naked Rain's ambitious urban open-world RPG into a more concrete pre-release phase. The free-to-play game is planned for iOS and Android alongside PC and PlayStation 5. ANANTA distinguishes itself from fantasy competitors through a dense contemporary city filled with vehicles, pedestrians, interiors and opportunities for parkour. Players can drive, move rapidly across the environment and experience stories through multiple characters.

That city density is also the project's biggest technical challenge. A wilderness can hide streaming transitions and reduce the number of simultaneously active systems, while urban streets require traffic, people, lighting, interiors and rapid traversal to function together. Mobile optimization will therefore be one of the most important topics between now and January. Flagship phones can deliver extraordinary graphics, but a globally successful free-to-play game needs to serve mid-range devices as well.

NetEase has already proved the visual ambition of ANANTA; the next task is demonstrating scalability, stable performance and sensible hardware requirements.
