Nexon Games is preparing to make FAREIDOLIA publicly playable for the first time at Tokyo Game Show 2026, which runs September 17–21. Previously known as Project RX, the new 3D anime project comes from Nexon's IO Division, a team associated with Blue Archive. FAREIDOLIA is planned for iOS and Android alongside PC and consoles, although Nexon has not announced a release date. The game is set around Anima City and Tasogare Hall, with an emphasis on living alongside and interacting with characters known as Mates.
That everyday-life framing suggests a structure different from a conventional combat-first gacha RPG, although Nexon has not yet revealed enough systems to define exactly how progression works. The Tokyo Game Show demo is therefore important because it will provide the first opportunity to determine whether character interaction is genuinely central to play or mainly narrative packaging around familiar RPG mechanics.
Character-focused mobile games thrive on attachment, and FAREIDOLIA's success may depend on making its inhabitants feel like more than another collection roster.
