HoYoverse's Petit Planet remains one of the most strategically interesting mobile projects coming out of Gamescom. The company has confirmed a winter 2026 launch and opened storefront pre-registration, with a final beta planned for September 20. Rather than another combat-heavy action RPG, Petit Planet asks players to become Planet Tenders who farm, decorate, gather resources and develop relationships with inhabitants across a collection of small worlds.
Players can also travel through the Starsea and interact through a shared Galactic Bazaar. The game appears designed around slower recurring routines that fit mobile sessions particularly well. The larger question concerns monetization. HoYoverse built its global success through character-collection systems, but cozy life simulations rely heavily on players feeling that customization is personally expressive rather than gated behind constant spending.
If Petit Planet preserves that freedom while using HoYoverse's expertise in long-term content updates, it could expand the company's audience beyond traditional gacha RPG players. If monetization dominates customization, the cozy atmosphere could become much harder to sustain.
