Nexon Games is preparing the first public playable build of FAREIDOLIA for Tokyo Game Show, which begins September 17. The project was previously known as Project RX and comes from Nexon's IO Division, a team closely associated with Blue Archive. FAREIDOLIA is planned for mobile, PC and consoles and takes place around Anima City and Tasogare Hall. Nexon's early messaging emphasizes interaction and everyday life with characters called Mates rather than focusing entirely on combat.
That makes the upcoming demo unusually important because trailers alone have not established exactly what players will spend most of their time doing. Character-driven mobile games depend heavily on emotional attachment, and Blue Archive proved that narrative relationships can become as important as battle systems. FAREIDOLIA could push that formula into a more elaborate 3D environment.
Tokyo Game Show should reveal whether its life-simulation elements are genuine systems or simply presentation surrounding a familiar RPG structure. No final release date has yet been announced.
