Sony's Xperia 10 VIII is now official, continuing the company's unusually conservative approach to midrange smartphones. The phone uses a 6.1-inch OLED display, 5,000mAh battery and a 50MP primary camera, with pricing around €599 in European markets. Depending on region, hardware details remain close to the previous generation, making the Xperia's value proposition more about Sony's design philosophy than raw specifications.
The company continues to favour a relatively narrow handset, lightweight construction and straightforward interface rather than joining the race toward enormous batteries and extremely fast charging. That creates a loyal niche but also makes comparison shopping difficult. Rivals around the same price increasingly offer larger batteries, faster chipsets and longer support commitments. Sony's smartphone business has survived partly because it does not attempt to compete purely on volume.
Xperia 10 VIII reinforces that strategy, but the premium pricing means buyers must place significant value on Sony's ergonomics and software approach rather than expecting the strongest hardware-per-euro calculation.
