Poco confirms flagship-class Snapdragon chips for the upcoming F9 Pro and F9 Ultra

Poco is preparing its next performance-focused smartphone generation and has confirmed the processors powering the F9 Pro and F9 Ultra. The F9 Pro will use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the F9 Ultra steps up to the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Those choices position both phones squarely around gaming and high sustained performance rather than conventional midrange usage.

Poco built much of its reputation by putting flagship processors into devices priced below traditional premium phones, and the F9 generation appears to continue that formula. Processor choice alone will not determine whether the phones are good gaming devices. Cooling, battery capacity and frame-rate stability matter just as much once demanding games run for twenty or thirty minutes.

The Ultra's newer chipset also creates room for more on-device AI processing, though practical software will matter more than theoretical performance figures. Poco has not yet revealed the complete global launch package, leaving display, camera, battery and pricing details as the next major pieces of information.
