Fingersoft is testing Hill Climb Racing 3 on Google Play in the United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden and Finland, giving players their first extended look at the next evolution of one of mobile gaming's enduring physics-racing franchises. The biggest structural change is real-time multiplayer. Earlier Hill Climb Racing games became successful because simple acceleration and braking controls generated surprisingly unpredictable vehicle physics, making them ideal for short mobile sessions.
Real-time competition adds a fundamentally different pressure. Players are no longer simply optimizing a personal run or comparing asynchronous scores; they must react to another driver in the same event. That can transform upgrade balance and matchmaking into major retention issues. Fingersoft has the advantage of a franchise with hundreds of millions of historical downloads and a control scheme that already works exceptionally well on touchscreens.
Soft launching close to the company's Nordic home markets gives the developer room to refine network performance, progression and competitive fairness before deciding how aggressively to expand. A global release date has not yet been announced.
