Meta's experimental Pocket app is now available to testers in the United States after earlier availability in Brazil, pushing generative AI directly into mobile game creation. Pocket resembles a feed of short interactive experiences rather than a traditional game catalogue. Users can create what Meta calls gizmos by supplying prompts and combining text, photos, touch interactions and sound, then share those creations with others through a scrolling social interface.

The concept effectively asks whether game creation can become as lightweight as posting a short video. That could dramatically expand the number of people capable of making interactive content, but it also creates significant moderation and discovery challenges. AI can generate enormous quantities of material faster than human editorial systems can review it. Meta therefore needs ranking systems capable of distinguishing genuinely entertaining experiments from disposable output.

Pocket remains in early testing and has received relatively little formal marketing, making the US rollout more of a product experiment than a full commercial launch. Even so, it represents an important convergence of generative AI, social feeds and mobile gaming.
