Petit Planet final-beta recruitment continues ahead of September 20 test

HoYoverse's Petit Planet remains one of the most important active mobile pre-launch campaigns as September begins. Recruitment is open for a final closed beta starting September 20 on Windows PC, iOS and Android, with applications closing September 14. The test will wipe progress and will not include real-money purchases.

Petit Planet represents a significant change of pace for HoYoverse, replacing the combat-first structure of Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero with farming, crafting, decorating and relationship building across a collection of small planets. Players become Planet Tenders who shape their own worlds and meet neighbouring characters while travelling through the Starsea. Mobile may become the project's most natural platform because life simulations benefit from brief recurring check-ins throughout the day.

The bigger question is monetization. HoYoverse has built enormous businesses around character collection, but a cozy simulation needs customization to feel generous rather than constantly gated. The September beta should provide the clearest indication yet of whether the company has found the right balance.
