Indie action game Bloodless reaches Android today, September 2, bringing its distinctive non-lethal samurai combat from PC to smartphones. Developed by Point N' Sheep, Bloodless is built around precision parries, counterattacks and ki techniques rather than simply cutting through enemies with a sword.

That makes the mobile version particularly interesting because timing-based combat can work extremely well on touchscreens when controls are responsive, but it becomes frustrating very quickly if input latency is noticeable. The game's minimalist pixel-art presentation should help it run across a wide range of Android hardware while preserving the atmosphere that attracted attention on PC. There is currently no confirmed iOS version, making Google Play the first mobile destination.

Bloodless also fits a growing pattern in which independent developers bring complete PC experiences to mobile rather than rebuilding them around free-to-play economies. For Android players increasingly interested in premium games, today's release adds another serious action title to a catalogue that has expanded substantially over the past two years. Its success will depend heavily on how naturally its parry system translates to touch controls.
