Gangstar Mirage City remains one of mobile's biggest active regional launches

Gameloft and Level Infinite's Gangstar Mirage City continues its regional rollout after attracting more than 30 million pre-registrations. The open-world action game is available across selected territories in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Latin America and the Middle East while the publishers monitor performance before wider expansion.

Mirage City represents a significant revival of the Gangstar brand, which was delivering smartphone crime sandboxes long before modern mobile hardware could convincingly support large urban worlds. Today's audience expects much more. Driving, shooting, NPC behaviour, missions and world streaming all need to work smoothly on a wide range of devices, while live-service content must create reasons to return after the initial novelty fades.

The regional strategy allows Gameloft and Level Infinite to control server load and analyse device-specific problems before exposing the game to every market simultaneously. With Garena Free City and other open-world projects also in development, Mirage City has a narrow opportunity to establish itself as the leading modern crime sandbox on mobile.
