Petit Planet pre-registration accelerates ahead of September 20 final beta

HoYoverse is maintaining momentum around Petit Planet as recruitment continues for its final closed beta, scheduled to begin September 20 across PC, iOS and Android. Applications remain open until September 14. The game represents a striking departure from Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero, focusing on farming, crafting, decorating and relationships rather than combat-driven progression. Players become Planet Tenders who develop small worlds and travel through the Starsea to meet new characters.

The structure could be particularly well suited to smartphones because life-simulation games naturally encourage brief daily check-ins alongside longer sessions. Monetization remains the most important unknown. HoYoverse has built enormous businesses around character acquisition, but cozy simulations depend heavily on players feeling ownership of their homes and customization choices. Excessive gating could therefore create friction much faster than in a combat RPG.

The September beta should offer the clearest evidence yet of whether HoYoverse has found a sustainable mobile economy for a gentler genre.
