Gemini can now remember where you put physical items through Find Hub

One of the standout additions in Google's September Android Drop is a new connection between Gemini and Find Hub that lets users save the location of items even when those objects do not contain a Bluetooth tracker. A user could tell Gemini that a passport was placed in a particular drawer, optionally attach a photo, and later retrieve the saved location through Find Hub or by asking Gemini. The feature will be available on Android 16 and newer in markets where both services are supported.

Conceptually, it turns Find Hub from a pure device-tracking network into a lightweight memory system. That may sound simple, but it reflects Google's broader strategy of connecting Gemini to practical phone tasks rather than presenting AI solely as a conversational chatbot. Privacy and accuracy will matter. A remembered location is only useful if Gemini stores the information correctly and users remain comfortable allowing personal context to persist.

If implemented well, it could become one of those small utilities that quietly integrates AI into everyday smartphone behaviour.
