Meta's experimental Pocket application continues expanding its U.S. test after initially appearing in Brazil, offering one of the clearest examples yet of generative AI being used to create instantly playable mobile content. Pocket allows users to describe small interactive experiences and turn prompts into what Meta calls gizmos. Those creations can combine generated imagery, text, sound and touch interaction before being shared through a discovery feed where other users can play or remix them.

The idea is potentially more disruptive than another conventional mobile game because it treats interactive content as something generated and consumed as rapidly as social video. The challenge is quality. Lowering creation barriers can produce extraordinary experimentation, but it can also flood a platform with repetitive or disposable content. Recommendation technology, moderation, copyright controls and attribution will therefore be central to whether Pocket becomes genuinely useful.

Meta's scale makes the experiment worth watching even while it remains early. If users begin treating small AI-generated games as shareable social objects, mobile game creation could broaden far beyond professional developers.
