Gameloft and Level Infinite continue operating Gangstar Mirage City across selected regions after the mobile open-world action game generated more than 30 million pre-registrations. Mirage City revives one of smartphones' earliest GTA-style franchises for hardware that can now support far more complex urban environments than previous Gangstar titles.

Players expect large cities, responsive driving, gunplay, missions, NPC behaviour and substantial live-service content rather than a simplified imitation of console open worlds. That creates demanding technical requirements, particularly in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Latin America and Middle Eastern markets where players use an enormous variety of Android devices.

Regional deployment allows Gameloft and Level Infinite to identify performance bottlenecks and server issues before exposing the game to a truly global audience. Competition is also arriving quickly through Garena Free City and other open-world projects. Mirage City's existing brand recognition gives it an early advantage, but maintaining momentum will depend on whether the world supports enough activities and social systems to remain interesting beyond the opening hours.
