Huawei Watch GT 7 series debuts with up to 21 days of battery life

Huawei has used its latest European product event to introduce the Watch GT 7 and Watch GT 7 Pro, pushing battery endurance and outdoor tracking to the centre of its wearable strategy. Huawei says configurations within the new generation can deliver up to 21 days of battery life, a figure that sharply contrasts with premium smartwatches that still require charging every one or two days.

The company is also emphasizing improved Sunflower positioning technology, cycling metrics and navigation features for outdoor sports including skiing. Huawei has become a major global wearable vendor partly by treating battery life as a core product feature rather than an afterthought. The new GT range continues that approach while competing increasingly directly with Garmin in fitness and outdoor usage as well as Apple and Samsung in mainstream smartwatch functions.

Pricing begins in the premium consumer segment rather than the bargain end of wearables. The broader strategic question is whether Huawei can turn its expanding watch user base into a stronger ecosystem for health, payments and connected-device services outside China.
