TECNO's true 0mm-bezel concept phone makes its in-person IFA debut

TECNO is bringing its Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone to IFA ShowStoppers in Berlin today, giving attendees their first opportunity to see the company's claimed true 0mm display border in person. Modern flagship smartphones have steadily reduced bezels, but even expensive models retain a thin black boundary around the active display. TECNO says its engineering approach removes that visible border through changes to screen packaging, component stacking and internal structure.

The company has not announced commercial specifications or a release plan, so the device should be viewed as a technology demonstration rather than an imminent retail phone. Even so, concepts can matter because they reveal which manufacturing problems companies believe they can solve in future production models. Completely borderless screens create their own challenges around durability, accidental touch input and repairability.

TECNO's showcase also demonstrates how aggressively Chinese smartphone brands are using IFA to establish global design credibility rather than competing solely on price. Whether 0mm borders become practical or remain showroom spectacle will depend on how the technology survives everyday drops and handling.
