PUBG Mobile Light is now accepting pre-registrations through Google Play and the App Store as Lightspeed Studios prepares a November launch. The project should not be confused with the older PUBG Mobile Lite. Instead of creating a heavily reduced edition with fewer features, PUBG Mobile Light is intended to preserve the core PUBG Mobile experience while dramatically lowering storage and device requirements.

The Android version is expected to require around 1GB of storage, while the iOS build will be approximately 2GB. Players will be able to choose which content is stored locally, and existing PUBG Mobile cosmetics and account items are expected to transfer when users sign in. Updates are also planned to arrive alongside the standard game.

That strategy addresses one of mobile gaming's persistent problems: enormous installation sizes increasingly exclude players using inexpensive phones or devices with limited storage. If Light can maintain Erangel, familiar combat and synchronized content without becoming a second-class version, it could significantly broaden PUBG Mobile's reachable audience in Southeast Asia, India, Latin America and other hardware-diverse markets.
