NetEase Games and Everstone Studio are continuing the September content push for Where Winds Meet following the September 3 release of Bamboo Cut – Draught, a new martial-arts style inspired by irregular, drunken-boxing-like movement. The addition comes shortly after the developers announced that the open-world wuxia RPG had surpassed 100 million players worldwide.

More substantial content is already scheduled: Hidden Mountain Chapter 3 arrives September 16 and will conclude the current storyline with a confrontation against Qianye. New bosses, field encounters, an Extraction Mode and the supernatural Ghost Month event are also planned. The scale of Where Winds Meet is important to mobile gaming because it demonstrates how far smartphone production values have moved beyond shorter, self-contained experiences.

Players increasingly expect open worlds, complex combat and cross-platform continuity without accepting dramatically simplified mobile versions. NetEase is using frequent content additions to keep the enormous audience engaged between major story chapters. Bamboo Cut is comparatively small next to a full expansion, but distinctive fighting styles can materially change moment-to-moment play and give existing players a reason to experiment again.
