Huawei has expanded its wearable portfolio at IFA 2026 with the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Pro, reinforcing the company's position as one of the world's most aggressive smartwatch manufacturers. The new devices sit alongside the recently introduced Watch GT 7 family and continue Huawei's emphasis on health tracking, premium materials and longer battery endurance than many competing full-featured smartwatches.

Wearables have become strategically important to Huawei because the category is less constrained by the smartphone ecosystem barriers the company has faced in some international markets. Watches can also serve as gateways into Huawei Health and the broader connected-device portfolio even when a customer uses a non-Huawei phone. Competition is intensifying as Samsung, Google, Motorola and specialised fitness brands add AI coaching, recovery metrics and increasingly sophisticated sensors.

Huawei's advantage has traditionally been battery life and broad fitness tracking. The Watch 6 generation gives the company another opportunity to turn that hardware strength into a deeper health platform rather than simply selling attractive wrist displays.
