Saints Row: The Third Remastered opens mobile pre-orders ahead of October launch

Feral Interactive has opened pre-orders for Saints Row: The Third Remastered on iOS and Android, with the complete mobile edition scheduled for October 29. This is not being treated as a stripped-down free-to-play adaptation. The smartphone version includes the remastered base game and its downloadable content, with pricing set at $19.99 in the United States, £12.99 in the UK and €15.99 in Europe. Feral is also supporting physical controllers, while Android tablets and iPads can use mouse and keyboard input.

Online cooperative play is included as well. That combination makes Saints Row one of the clearest examples of mobile devices increasingly being treated as legitimate destinations for full console-era releases. Modern premium phones and tablets have ample processing power for games of this generation; interface adaptation and thermal management are now the bigger challenges.

The October release will also test consumer appetite for a comparatively expensive premium mobile game at a time when most smartphone titles still depend on free downloads and in-app spending.
