Meta's experimental Pocket application has expanded from Brazil into the United States, giving a much larger group of users access to its AI-generated interactive experiences. Pocket allows people to combine prompts, text, photographs, touch interactions and sound to create short playable pieces Meta calls gizmos. Those creations can then be discovered and remixed through a feed that deliberately resembles short-form social media. Conceptually, Pocket blurs the boundary between making a game and making a post.
A user does not need conventional programming knowledge or an asset pipeline; they describe an idea and let AI assemble something interactive. The opportunity is enormous, but so is the quality-control problem. If creation becomes nearly frictionless, the platform could fill with repetitive or disposable material faster than users can discover worthwhile experiences. Recommendation systems, moderation and attribution therefore become central product features rather than supporting infrastructure.
Meta has not yet given Pocket a major marketing push, making the current US expansion an important real-world test of whether people actually want to create and consume playable social content.
