Pure Crime tests Miniclip's own answer to mobile open-world crime games

Miniclip's Derby studio is testing Pure Crime: Gangster Shooting on iOS and Android in the United Kingdom, Canada and the Philippines. The project is another sign that publishers believe modern phones are finally capable of supporting convincing GTA-style open worlds at mainstream scale. Pure Crime appears to combine city exploration, vehicles and shooting in a large urban environment.

Selecting Canada and the UK gives Miniclip relatively mature Western test audiences, while the Philippines provides a highly mobile-first market with much greater Android hardware diversity. That combination should expose both gameplay and technical weaknesses. Open-world games can look impressive in advertisements while struggling with memory consumption, battery drain, heat or empty environments during real use.

Miniclip therefore needs more than attractive cityscapes; the world must remain interesting across repeated sessions. Pure Crime is currently only a test and competes conceptually with Garena Free City and other ambitious mobile sandboxes. The number of simultaneous experiments suggests publishers see open-world action as one of mobile gaming's next major battlegrounds.
