TECNO's 0mm-bezel concept becomes one of IFA's biggest phone talking points

TECNO's true bezel-free concept phone is emerging as one of IFA 2026's most visually striking smartphone demonstrations. Hands-on reports from Berlin describe a 6.7-inch 144Hz display where the conventional black border has been reduced almost entirely, creating an effect closer to an infinity pool than an ordinary handset. TECNO achieved the design through revised display packaging, internal component stacking and structural engineering.

This remains a concept rather than a retail-ready product, and that distinction matters. Removing the visible border creates new questions around drop protection, accidental touches, panel replacement and manufacturing yield. Yet concepts are valuable precisely because they show what manufacturers believe might become commercially achievable.

The smartphone industry has spent more than a decade shrinking bezels, not because a few millimetres dramatically change functionality but because screen-to-body ratio remains immediately visible in a shop. TECNO has now taken that competition to its logical extreme. Whether zero really becomes the next mainstream target will depend on durability more than showroom spectacle.
