Huawei's Watch 6 range has arrived around IFA with four size variants spanning the standard Watch 6 and Watch 6 Pro. The regular model is offered in 42mm and 46mm formats, while the Pro comes in 43mm and 46mm sizes, including a premium ceramic option. Huawei is emphasizing its new Arcglow design, interchangeable EasyCross strap system and the health and fitness tracking that has helped the company become one of the world's largest wearable vendors.
Smartwatches occupy an important strategic position for Huawei because the category allows the company to compete internationally without relying entirely on the smartphone software ecosystem. A Huawei watch can still attract users carrying phones from competing brands. The Watch 6 now faces an unusually crowded premium market including Google's Pixel Watch 5, Samsung's Galaxy Watch 9 and Motorola's newly announced Moto Watch Ultra.
Huawei's traditional competitive advantages are battery endurance and broad fitness features. The challenge is converting those strengths into an ecosystem that feels as cohesive as Wear OS-based rivals.
