Top General puts Century Games into another mobile 4X battlefield

Century Games is also testing Top General, a military 4X strategy game currently generating downloads in the United States, United Kingdom, Brazil and the Philippines. The title is available through both the App Store and Google Play. The company behind Whiteout Survival understands persistent mobile strategy unusually well, so Top General is interesting less because of its basic genre and more because of what Century may do differently with pacing, user acquisition and social systems.

Mobile 4X games live or die on server ecology. Alliances need enough conflict to create stories and rivalries, yet overly dominant groups can make newer players feel irrelevant. Testing across four geographically and economically different markets gives Century a useful mix of monetization and hardware data. The military theme is far more conventional than Whiteout Survival's frozen-apocalypse setting, meaning Top General will need to differentiate through systems rather than aesthetics alone.

If Century discovers another scalable retention loop, however, it already possesses the marketing infrastructure required to turn a regional experiment into a major global launch.
