Garena's Palworld Online continues building momentum through South Korean pre-registration. Developed under licence from Pocketpair, the project is not intended as a direct smartphone port of Palworld but as a persistent mobile MMORPG using the same creature-collecting universe. Garena is combining open-world exploration, base development, cooperative PvE and competitive systems with controls designed from the outset for touchscreens. That creates an intriguing tension.
Palworld became popular partly because of unpredictable sandbox behaviour and the freedom to experiment, while mobile MMORPGs often rely on highly structured progression. Garena needs to preserve enough chaos and autonomy that the game feels like Palworld rather than merely another collection-driven MMO with familiar creatures. South Korea is a demanding early market because players there have deep experience with ambitious mobile RPGs and are quick to identify shallow systems.
Garena's enormous operational experience gives the project a better chance than most licensed adaptations of surviving beyond its launch window.
