TECNO's true 0mm-bezel smartphone concept continues attracting attention at IFA 2026 because it takes the industry's decade-long screen-to-body competition almost to its logical endpoint. The prototype uses revised display packaging and internal component arrangement to reduce the conventional black border around the panel to almost nothing. The effect is visually dramatic: content appears to extend directly to the edge of the hardware.
TECNO is presenting the device as a technology demonstration rather than a near-term retail model, which is an important distinction. Eliminating bezels creates practical problems around impact protection, accidental touches, manufacturing yields and replacement costs. Still, concept devices matter because they show what manufacturers believe could become technically achievable.
Smartphone design has become increasingly homogeneous as almost every flagship adopts a large rectangular display, leaving details such as borders, camera modules and materials to carry more visual identity. TECNO's prototype demonstrates that the bezel race is not quite finished yet.
