Motorola's Moto Watch Ultra is receiving fresh hands-on attention at IFA as the company prepares for its September 10 launch. The 46mm stainless-steel smartwatch uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon W5 Plus Gen 1 processor, Wear OS 6 and a 1.5-inch OLED display rated at up to 2,700 nits. LTE connectivity, dual-band GPS, Google Wallet and 5ATM water resistance make it a full premium smartwatch rather than a simple phone companion.
Motorola's most interesting decision is its partnership with Polar, which supplies established fitness and recovery algorithms including Nightly Recharge, Sleep Plus Stages and running guidance. Samsung and Google already make mature Wear OS devices, so Motorola needs more than comparable hardware to justify another ecosystem entrant. Polar gives it a credible health-and-training identity from day one. Battery life is rated around two days with the always-on display disabled. The $349.
99 US pricing puts Motorola directly into serious premium competition.
