Huawei is taking the 2026 MatePad Pro 12 global, combining an exceptionally thin 4.7mm chassis with a 144Hz PaperMatte OLED display. The tablet uses Huawei's Kirin T93 platform and continues the company's strategy of treating tablets as serious productivity devices rather than oversized media players. The PaperMatte screen is particularly important because glare remains one of the biggest weaknesses of large glossy tablets used for reading or drawing.
Huawei has invested heavily in textured and anti-reflective display treatments, and pairing that approach with OLED aims to preserve premium contrast while reducing reflections. The ultra-thin body inevitably raises questions about battery capacity, durability and thermal performance, but it also demonstrates how aggressively tablet hardware continues to evolve. Huawei remains constrained in some smartphone markets, making tablets and wearables increasingly important parts of its international ecosystem strategy.
A strong MatePad experience can still bring users into Huawei's software and accessory ecosystem even when their primary phone comes from another brand.
