Gemini can now remember where you put things through Android Find Hub

Google's September Android Drop introduces one of Gemini's most practical integrations yet: users can ask the assistant to remember where an ordinary object has been placed and save that information inside Find Hub. A passport can be recorded as being in a particular drawer, for example, with an optional photo attached. Later, the user can ask Gemini or open the remembered-items section in Find Hub. Unlike a Bluetooth tracker, the system does not physically locate the object.

It acts as an external memory for something the user intentionally stored and subsequently forgot. That distinction makes the feature useful without requiring additional hardware. Google says it will reach eligible devices running Android 16 or newer in markets where Gemini and Find Hub are available. The privacy implications are obvious because users may store locations of valuable personal objects, so straightforward deletion and account security are essential.

Still, this is exactly the kind of quiet convenience that can make AI feel integrated rather than bolted onto the operating system.
