TECNO's next-generation bezelless concept smartphone remains one of IFA 2026's most visually striking mobile demonstrations. The prototype reduces the visible border around the screen to effectively 0mm, making content appear to extend directly to the edge of the device. Smartphone design has become increasingly homogeneous as nearly every flagship adopts a large rectangular display, so manufacturers now compete through increasingly small details such as camera modules, materials and display packaging.

A true zero-bezel design therefore creates immediate visual differentiation. The engineering compromises are harder. Bezels provide protection during drops, space for internal structures and a buffer against accidental touch input. Removing them can increase manufacturing complexity and repair costs. TECNO is presenting the device as a technology concept rather than a confirmed near-term retail model, which is sensible.

Even if consumers never buy this exact handset, concept hardware often previews techniques that gradually move into mass-market products. IFA 2026 has effectively given TECNO a platform to demonstrate that screen-to-body competition still has room to evolve.
