Motorola's Edge 70 Plus remains central to the company's IFA hardware push, combining a 200-megapixel main camera with a 6.78-inch high-refresh AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 platform and a large 6,500mAh battery. The enormous camera resolution is the obvious marketing headline, although sensor size, optics and processing ultimately matter more than megapixel count alone. Motorola's broader strategy is more interesting than any single specification.

The Edge 70 Plus launches alongside a renewed Wear OS effort, magnetic Qi2 charging accessories and cross-device AI through Lenovo's Qira platform. That means Motorola increasingly wants buyers to see a connected ecosystem rather than a standalone handset. Apple, Samsung and Google have already demonstrated how effective ecosystem lock-in can be for customer retention. Motorola has historically lacked that same breadth, but its Lenovo relationship gives it access to PCs, tablets and enterprise software.

Edge 70 Plus therefore serves as the smartphone anchor for a much more ambitious connected-device strategy.
