Call of Duty: Mobile launches Season 8, Against All Fate, today, September 9, with one of the game's most ambitious collaborations yet. The headline attraction is a crossover with HoYoverse's Honkai Impact 3rd, bringing themed Operators, story quests, a character encyclopedia, a dormitory lobby and additional collection systems. More importantly, Activision is introducing a three-player roguelike top-down shooter mode in which teams fight waves of enemies across several maps before facing a boss.
The format is a remarkable departure for a game normally built around first-person multiplayer and Battle Royale. Season 8 also introduces the Static-HV SMG and ISO Hemlock assault rifle, along with the first Mythic Weapons Series Armory containing three Mythic weapons simultaneously. A new Battle Pass supplies the usual Operators, blueprints and progression rewards. Call of Duty: Mobile increasingly resembles a broad mobile entertainment platform rather than simply a portable Call of Duty game.
The season officially begins September 9 at 5PM Pacific.
