Garena's Palworld Online remains in active pre-registration in South Korea as the company prepares the mobile MMORPG for a broader release later in 2026. Rather than simply compressing Pocketpair's original game onto smartphones, Garena is building a persistent online world around creature collection, crafting, exploration and base development.
Cooperative PvE and competitive PvP are both planned, while touchscreen-oriented controls and optional automation are intended to make large-scale management practical on smaller devices. South Korea is an especially demanding test market because players have decades of experience with online RPG progression and sophisticated live-service economies. The central design challenge is preserving Palworld's sandbox character.
Too much automation or rigid quest structure could turn the mobile version into a conventional MMORPG wearing a recognizable licence. Garena's operational history with Free Fire gives it enormous mobile expertise, but Palworld Online will test whether that expertise can successfully support a very different kind of persistent world.
