Petit Planet approaches Final Beta recruitment deadline

HoYoverse is moving closer to Petit Planet's Final Beta, with recruitment scheduled to close on September 14 before testing begins September 20 on iOS, Android and PC. The colourful life simulation is a significant departure from Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. Rather than focusing primarily on combat, Petit Planet revolves around exploration, social interaction, decoration and everyday routines. That may sound less technically demanding, but life simulations depend heavily on pacing.

Players need enough goals and progression to keep returning without turning supposedly relaxing activities into another obligation-filled live service. Smartphones are especially well suited to this format because users can check in briefly throughout the day or spend longer sessions decorating and exploring. HoYoverse already has world-class infrastructure for cross-platform accounts and frequent content updates.

Petit Planet will show whether the publisher can apply those strengths to an audience motivated more by creativity and comfort than combat optimisation.
