iPhone 18 Pro expected to introduce Apple's 2nm A20 Pro generation

Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max during today's September event. Reports point to Apple's new A20 Pro processor manufactured on a 2nm process, which could improve performance and efficiency while providing additional headroom for on-device AI. Camera rumours include a variable-aperture main sensor, brighter telephoto hardware and a higher-resolution front camera.

Apple has not confirmed those specifications, so they should remain treated as pre-event reporting until the keynote. The wider competitive context makes this year's Pro generation important. Android manufacturers increasingly offer enormous batteries, ultra-fast charging, sophisticated periscope cameras and foldable displays, reducing the impact of incremental annual improvements.
