Xiaomi 18 Fold arrives just before Apple's expected foldable debut

Xiaomi's 18 Fold is now one of the most important reference points for today's expected Apple foldable announcement. Launched September 7, the device uses a book-style design with a 7.58-inch internal display and Xiaomi's own XRing O3 processor. It weighs 219 grams and measures 5.02mm when unfolded, while the software can display three applications side by side. A 6,000mAh battery supports 67W wired and 50W wireless charging. Xiaomi has priced the handset from 10,999 yuan to 14,999 yuan depending on configuration.

The phone also includes a Leica-developed camera system led by a 200-megapixel main sensor. More important than any individual specification is Xiaomi's increasing vertical integration. XRing O3 gives the company greater control over performance, AI and software optimisation rather than relying exclusively on Qualcomm or MediaTek. Global availability has not yet been announced.
