Transformers: Eternal War begins final launch weekend countdown

Transformers: Eternal War is now three days from its September 15 worldwide release on iOS and Android. The officially licensed tactical RPG has already been operating through a regional soft launch in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the Philippines, giving the publisher an opportunity to gather balancing and retention data before the wider rollout. Battles revolve around five-character formations containing Autobots and Decepticons with different combat roles and synergy traits.

Outside combat, players develop their roster and supporting facilities while progression continues through idle systems. Global pre-registration rewards include a large number of summons alongside characters such as Jazz and Bumblebee. Licensed games can attract enormous launch curiosity, but the Transformers brand alone will not guarantee retention. Eternal War needs formation-building and progression to remain interesting once players have collected familiar characters.

The regional testing period should give the development team a better chance of avoiding the instability that often accompanies worldwide mobile launches.
