iOS 27 is now two days from public release

Apple will release iOS 27 on Monday, September 14, putting the major operating-system update only two days away. Apple says the update improves general performance, with claimed gains including faster application launches and substantially quicker AirDrop transfers. The Liquid Glass interface receives further refinement and more customisation, while supported newer iPhones gain expanded Apple Intelligence and Siri functionality.

Importantly, Apple is keeping compatibility broad: the same iPhones that run iOS 26 are expected to remain eligible for iOS 27, including models stretching back to the iPhone 11 generation. Not every supported device will receive the same AI features because the most advanced functions require newer neural-processing hardware. That increasingly represents the future of operating-system support: a phone may remain secure and compatible for years while advanced AI capabilities gradually become hardware-dependent.

Users should expect the rollout to begin September 14, with availability potentially appearing at different times by region.
