Mobile Legends: Bang Bang's enormous esports machine has secured another heavyweight partner. Visa and MOONTON Games have announced a new three-year agreement covering the M8, M9 and M10 World Championships, running from 2027 through 2029. Visa becomes the Global Payment Partner of MLBB's flagship international tournament series. The deal isn't simply about putting another logo around the arena.
Visa cardholders are promised preferential access to M Series tickets alongside opportunities for VIP-zone access, player meet-and-greets and behind-the-scenes experiences. MOONTON has plenty of audience scale to bring to the table: the company cites Esports Charts data showing an M Series peak concurrent audience of 5.68 million, underlining just how far competitive mobile gaming has travelled from its early grassroots days.
For the wider mobile industry, the partnership is another sign that mobile esports increasingly attracts the kind of long-term multinational sponsorship once associated primarily with traditional sports and major PC competitions. Three additional championships also give MOONTON considerably more runway than a one-event sponsorship agreement. Mobile Legends already commands a particularly powerful following across Southeast Asia, but its ambitions are increasingly global.
Visa signing through M10 suggests commercial partners are planning for that expansion too.
