ARC X1 Brings Snapdragon Power and a 120Hz Screen to Android Handheld Gaming

India's growing gaming-hardware scene has an intriguing new machine to watch. The ARC X1 is an Android-based handheld built around Qualcomm's Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 Gaming Platform, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X memory and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. On paper, however, the screen may be the feature gamers notice first: a seven-inch 1920x1080 LTPS display running at 120Hz. Storage can be expanded by up to 1TB through microSD, while ARC has fitted active cooling rather than relying entirely on passive heat dissipation.

The controller hardware is unusually serious too. There are TMR analogue sticks designed to resist drift, Hall-effect analogue triggers, programmable rear controls, a six-axis gyroscope and dual LRA haptic motors. ARC's custom OwlOS is built on AOSP and provides a controller-first interface supporting native Android games and cloud gaming. Pricing is set at ₹33,500, while an early community batch is listed at ₹29,500. Pre-orders are scheduled to begin October 2.

Android handhelds are no longer a strange little corner of portable gaming, and ARC is clearly aiming beyond the 'phone with controls attached' formula. The X1 looks purpose-built for gaming from the sticks upward.
