ARC X1's Replaceable 9,300mAh Battery Is the Feature More Handhelds Should Steal

The ARC X1 has a 120Hz display, Snapdragon gaming silicon and enough controller technology to make specification enthusiasts happy, but its most refreshing feature might be considerably less glamorous: you can replace the battery. ARC lists a substantial 9,300mAh battery for its new Android gaming handheld, with 27W charging and a claimed gaming endurance of more than eight hours. More importantly, the company's official specifications describe the battery pack as replaceable.

The same repairability section also lists replaceable joysticks, modular daughterboards and spare-parts availability. That's worth highlighting because batteries are consumable components. A handheld gaming device might remain perfectly capable years after purchase while its heavily cycled battery slowly loses capacity. Making that component serviceable can therefore extend the useful life of the entire machine. ARC isn't sacrificing modern portable features to get there either.

The X1 combines its battery with a seven-inch 1080p 120Hz display, Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 platform, active cooling, TMR sticks, Hall triggers, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. The company quotes a regular price of ₹33,500, with a ₹29,500 community launch batch. Raw performance will ultimately determine how competitive the X1 is, but repairability is already one specification we'd happily see copied by every handheld manufacturer.
