Honor of Kings Breaks Out of the MOBA Lane With Season 16 and Three-Minute Honor Royale

Honor of Kings has rolled out its September update, launching Season 16: Flow As One with a surprisingly broad attempt to make the world's giant mobile MOBA feel less like one game and more like several games sharing a lobby. TiMi Studio Group and Level Infinite have completed the Flowborn lineup by adding Assassin and Roamer classes, both available free from September 23, while new mid-lane hero Wang Wei joins on October 8.

The bigger left turn is Honor Royale, a beta mode built around four two-player teams fighting in rapid 2v2v2v2 matches lasting roughly three minutes. It is effectively Honor of Kings borrowing battle-royale pacing without requiring players to spend half an hour hiding behind shrubbery. The update also expands ranked systems and arrives at a particularly useful moment: Honor of Kings is an official medal event at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, with competition scheduled for September 27-28.

That gives TiMi a substantial audience watching the game just as the live version gains new reasons to return. Live-service MOBAs normally change carefully because millions of players become understandably upset when somebody moves their favourite button three pixels. Flow As One is considerably bolder, adding characters, classes and an entirely different competitive rhythm at once.
