Hello Kitty Island Adventure Hands the Cafe Keys to Kuromi for a Month of Mischief

Friendship Island is about to become slightly less well behaved. Hello Kitty Island Adventure has begun its latest seasonal programme with Kuromi taking control of Hello Kitty's Cafe for the Month of Mischief. Players can trick-or-treat across the island, brew strange potions, collect spooky cosmetics and apparently trust Kuromi with a functioning food-service establishment. What could possibly go wrong?

The event runs through October 31 and sits alongside returning Fall Fashion Frenzy content, while Pompompurin and Chococat's 30th-anniversary celebrations introduce the Rocky Rail Ride mine-cart minigame. It is another example of why Hello Kitty Island Adventure has managed to keep its cosy-game audience engaged: instead of simply adding another shop full of costumes, the developers continue wrapping seasonal cosmetics around activities, exploration and character events.

The game's cheerful exterior remains almost suspiciously wholesome, but handing the cafe to Kuromi at least adds the possibility that somebody may finally put something mildly dangerous on the menu.
