Pokémon GO is sending players somewhere that mobile games do not normally dare to suggest: an actual shop. A new collaboration with the adidas and Pokémon collection begins September 25 and runs through January 15, 2027 at participating adidas and retail locations. Opening Pokémon GO at one of the eligible stores unlocks event-themed Timed Research that can award an adidas jacket and cap for the player's avatar alongside XP, Stardust, a Lucario encounter and Lucario Mega Energy.
Niantic says players worldwide will also get opportunities connected with additional adidas merchandise. It is a tidy example of Pokémon GO's continuing ability to blur mobile-game events with real-world marketing without needing to reinvent its central mechanic. Ten years after launch, the game can still persuade people to walk somewhere because a virtual monster or hat is waiting there. Few advertising campaigns have achieved quite so much cardio.
The collaboration also neatly complements Pokémon's broader 30th-anniversary celebrations taking place throughout 2026.
