Simon's Cat World Turns the Famous Cartoon Feline Into a Puzzle Collection

Tactile Games has released Simon's Cat World on iOS, giving the enormously successful animated cat another opportunity to interfere with people's productivity. Rather than committing to a single puzzle format, the new game combines sorting puzzles, Sudoku-style challenges and other minigames in one package, with additional activities expected over time.

Players can bounce between puzzle types at their own pace, while events and leaderboards provide competition for anyone unable to simply enjoy rearranging things without proving they rearranged them better than everyone else. The format is an interesting fit for a familiar entertainment IP because it treats Simon's Cat less as the foundation for one elaborate game mechanic and more as the connective tissue between multiple casual activities.

That could make the title relatively easy to expand as new puzzle formats become fashionable. Given the mobile industry's remarkable ability to turn literally anything into a sorting game, at least this time there is a cat available to stare judgmentally at your decisions.
