CodeFarmer has released Solitaire 1380 on iOS, although the name is apparently already modest: the package contains more than 1,400 illustrated solitaire and patience games. Yes, more than fourteen hundred. Anyone who previously complained that their solitaire app lacked variety has therefore had their bluff called rather comprehensively. The collection goes far beyond Klondike, incorporating regional card variants as well as Hanafuda and Mahjong-inspired games.

Three favourites can be played free, while a one-time purchase unlocks the complete collection. That payment model is worth noting in an App Store increasingly dominated by subscriptions and recurring monetisation. Solitaire has also proved almost comically durable as a digital-game format, surviving every hardware generation from office PCs to smartphones because the basic appeal requires no tutorial, season pass or cinematic universe.

Solitaire 1380 simply responds to that longevity by attempting to put what feels like the entire evolutionary tree of patience games into one app. If nothing else, nobody can accuse it of lacking content.
